About
Bio/Description

Background:

Simon hails from rugged northern Québec, Canada. He graduated from McGill University’s Honours Physics undergraduate program in 2015 with a focus in condensed matter. He further completed a M.Sc. there, also in Physics, where he studied strongly correlated electronic behavior in semiconductor devices at ultralow temperatures. For his PhD in Electrical Engineering at Princeton, he is interested in how fundamental nanophotonics and device-level optoelectronics can be applied to systems-level optical signal processing, notably neuromorphic photonics. Outside the lab, Simon enjoys the outdoors, physical activity, reading, and (some would say intense) board games.

Research Interests:

  • Nanophotonics
  • Integrated optoelectronic devices
  • Inverse design
  • Applications of neuromorphic photonics
